Mother's Day has always been an interesting holiday for me as my mom died when I was two months old. My dad didn't get remarried until I was 17 so growing up I was largely without a mother figure. Now that I'm older I feel so lucky to have a stepmom, a mother-in-law, and all my wonderful friends who are moms to celebrate on this special day.
My sweet friend Jordan is expecting her first baby and I'm so excited to celebrate with her. This picture is from a Cold Stone date we went on last week after work. :D I love that it's finally ice cream weather!
She's having a little get-together with close friends today and I love that it gives me something to celebrate and look forward to this Mother's Day. To help add to the festivities I picked up this Strawberry Splendor cake from Cold Stone for her Mother's Day party. Nothing says a party like an ice cream cake!
Growing up, getting Cold Stone was always such a treat for me. I'm excited to now get to share that treat with others!
The Strawberry Splendor cake is made of yellow cake and sweet cream ice cream ( <--- LOVE!) layered with fresh strawberry puree wrapped in white frosting and a strawberry glaze. It's heavenly and perfect for both Mother's Day celebrations and everyday enjoyment!
My dad is coming to visit me next week so I actually picked up another small Strawberry Splendor cake to enjoy with him when he arrives as growing up he had the role of both mom and dad. Vanilla cake and strawberry ice cream are also his favorites so this cake is perfect for him. :D
