What I've Been Up To Lately

What I've Been Up To Lately
Time has been flying since Josh and I moved to Omaha. We have been doing so much and having so much fun. I feel so lucky that this amazing city is already starting to feel like home. Because of how busy we've been acclimating to a new city I feel like I haven't been posting as much about our outings. I thought I'd do a fun picture catch up post today. The Joslyn Art Museum is blocks from our apartment and absolutely amazing. I was so happy we made it to the traveling Impressionist exhibit before it left. That's my favorite style of art. I love the architecture of so many parts of Omaha. Old Market is gorgeous. We cheered on our first Husker game! Go Big Red! Nebraska has SERIOUS football pride. I thought Penn State was proud but oh man they have them beat. The whole state goes crazy when there's a game. I'm so glad they won! I went over the border to Iowa for brunch at Dixie Quicks with my new friend Erin. This brie and apple omelet was delicious. A fried goat cheese salad happened recently. Oh yes. Josh and I went to Trini's with Lacey and got yummy Mexican food. This  black bean burrito was so good. Josh made us waffles using our new waffle maker. They were pecan banana waffles and were such a fun weekend treat. Yay for using kitchen appliances we registered for! We stopped by Blue during Happy Hour on Labor Day to see what all the fuss was about. We now totally get it, Blue is amazing. This veggie lettuce wrap was out of this world good. I'm already excited to go back and get another one. I tried gelato from E Creamery. They were on Shark Tank but turned down an offer. The owner said it was the best thing he ever did as sales are booming and they own the company in full. I've been trying to wear as many of my bright colored outfits as possible lately since fall is fast approaching. This was my watermelon look. And this was my daisy look! I love this skirt. :D Josh and I went to Target for apartment supplies. I love that store so much. I was happy we were able to find cute, affordable pieces. Our Fit fits a lot! :D We had a fun date night at Corky Canvas learning how to paint. Josh is way more talented than I am. Look at that tree! The instructor walks you through step by step how to paint a specific painting. Deviation is always encouraged, though we didn't. This night was date night so it was lots of couples working on an individual canvas that morphed into one big picture when put together. There's drinks and 80's music playing which is always a bonus. It's a really fun time and we already plan on coming back. I'm no artist but we love how it turned out and that we made it together. These two paintings are now hanging above our bed. I know it hasn't been mentioned on here in a while but I'm still trying to prioritize fitness. I'll be honest and say this hasn't been happening as often as I'd like lately, and that my clothes and waist line are definitely starting to notice a difference. It's time to really reign in the celebratory meals and focus on clean eats and good workouts. Please think happy fitness thoughts for me! Question of the Day: Have you taken a painting class? Would you ever want to?
