Turning 23

Turning 23
I love birthdays. Aside from the selfish reasons of attention and gifts, it's a great chance to reflect on the past year of your life and think ahead to the next year. 22 was amazing to me. I graduated college, got married, moved, and started my career. Taylor Swift even wrote a song about 22. I'm so excited for what 23 has in store for me. I'm excited for new experiences, to learn and grow, and to just enjoy life. It sounds corny but life is beautiful. Here's how I rang in 23: Josh surprised me with pre-birthday flowers the day before my birthday. I thought that was so sweet. I spent the workday part of my birthday attending Omaha Advertising X with my boss for work. It was the first year of the marketing conference and it was such a great event. I learned a lot and got to connect with local businesses and fellow marketers. The food was awesome too. :D I came home and Josh surprised me with my birthday present. Justin Timberlake tickets were tucked inside the box. I may have freaked out a little. ;p For dinner we went to Jones Bros. Cupcakes. Last week was restaurant week in Omaha with restaurants offering a price fix menu with a portion of the proceeds going towards fighting hunger. Jones Bros. Cupcakes is known for their desserts and light soups and salads, but they typically don't do big meals. For restaurant week they were making homemade gnocchi, so we knew we had to check it out. The meal was delicious. The best part was definitely the cupcakes. There's a reason why they won Cupcake Wars. After the meal we went to Crave for birthday drinks. It was the perfect way to end a perfect night. I have no idea what 23 will bring but all I can hope is that it brings more of the same. Life is good. Question of the Day: How did you spend your weekend? Did you do anything special to celebrate the first day of fall? I drank a lot of pumpkin coffee. :D
