Ringing in 2013

Hey everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start. I'm slowly but surely getting through all my Connecticut recaps. Today's recap is of New Years Eve with Josh and his family. It was such a special time. Two New Years ago I was talking to Josh on the phone as the ball dropped, last year I spent it with him in person, and I was so excited to be getting to do that again this year. Ten family friends came over for a night of celebrating. My kiss at midnight and the server of delicious eggplant rolls. When Debbie hosts a party there is never a shortage of food. This food did not disappoint. These were delicious spinach and goat cheese crackers. John made his famous nut and berry brie which was served alongside spanakopita. They were both so tasty. We started off dinner with a salad. And then chowed down into some of Debbie's ziti. It was so tasty. While trying not to fall into a carb coma we sat around and played the board game Smart Ass. This was a new to me game that I was excited to play with everyone. It definitely is the sort of game that peaks your interest. It was fun but I sucked at it. I am horrible at shouting out answers and guesses faster than someone else. Except when it comes to Family Feud. I would own that show. And I would love to get to meet Steve Harvey, he is so funny. After dinner Josh's best man Omar's sister Cam offered to take some New Years photos for us. It was so sweet of her. When Josh and I got our engagement photos done our photographer remarked that Josh is one of the most natural posers she's ever worked with. She said he takes direction so well and just knows what to do in front of a camera. I do not have that gift. But I do love how the photo came out. ;p After our impromptu photo session we dug into our ice cream buffet and counted down the start of 2013 with Ryan Seacrest. At midnight we toasted and shook noise makers and kissed our loved ones. I'm not one to make concrete resolutions, I just resolve to embrace and encourage happiness this year, and live each day to the fullest. It was a wonderful night with an even better year to come. Here's to a happy and healthy year for all! Question of the Day: How did you ring in 2013? What are you looking forward to most this year?
