I Sweat Pink...and Other Fitness Updates
Hey guys! I hope you all are having the best start to the last day of the workweek. I am so excited for this weekend, Josh and I have a lot of fun things planned. I am also pretty excited about something else I wanted to share with you guys today. I don't know if you've noticed the new button on my sideboard to the right of this post. I am officially a Sweat Pink Ambassador! I am so excited to be a member of such a supportive, energetic group of women that are all about encouraging each other to reach their fitness goals and inspire others. As my blog turns a year old I've been thinking of some of the best things that have come out of it. I plan on doing a whole post about it but I will say that one of the things I am most proud about is being a part of FitFluential and Sweat Pink. To be a part of something that is so inspiring to so many others inspires me to be the very best I can. Being in these communities I now feel accountable to make sure I'm not just talking the talk but walking the walk. Every workout I do I know there's a group of people cheering me on and encouraging me to be my best. That's a pretty awesome thing. :) I've been working out at my school gym and love it. I have a pretty good workout routine down that looks like the following: Sunday- Pilates DVD Monday- Rest Tuesday- 30 min run on the treadmill, plus upper arm strength training Wednesday- 45 min run on the treadmill Thursday- 30 min run on the treadmill, plus upper arm strength training Friday- either Pilates DVD or a cool cardio workout I find on YouTube Saturday- either Pilates DVD or going running with Josh at the YMCA I've been really proud of myself for how far I've come with running. I still don't really feel like a runner, I am very slow and can't bust out super long runs, but seeing that I've run 3.55 miles makes me feel pretty damn good at the end of a workout. My treadmill workout looks like this: Set the treadmill to either 30 or 45 minutes and put the program to fat burn Warm up for three minutes at a speed of 3.5 Pause the machine and stretch Up the speed to 5 and run for one hip hop song Reduce the speed to 3.5 and fast walk for the next hip hop song Repeat until I've finished my workout Cool down for three minutes at a speed of 3.5 Stretch Me red-faced and sweaty after a workout. A workout may be hard while I'm doing it but afterwards I always feel like a million bucks. I am loving my new running sneakers. The Saucony Omni 11's are incredible. The bottom of these shoes have this extra firm grip I've never felt on another shoe that really hugs the treadmill as you run. These make my feet feel awesome. I always heard that investing in good running shoes is worth it but now I can say without a doubt that it is 100% worth it. And that's where I am in my fitness journey! Today I plan on tackling Blogilate's Gangnam Style Cardio workout. It should be fun! Question of the Day: What are some of your favorite Youtube workouts?
