Door to Door Organics
Turns out, there is. For the last few months, Josh and I have been using (and loving!) a service called Door to Door Organics. It's basically an online grocery store that specializes in delivering local (when possible), seasonal, organic foods straight to your door. While I would expect a service like this to be available in big cities (and it is!), I was thrilled when I heard it was available in Omaha. Heck yes to easy, convenient access to high-quality foods!
All we do is log into our account, choose the size of the box we want, the frequency with which we want it delivered, and what we want in it. You can choose food categories like fruits and veggies as well as specific products like Siggi's Yogurt or Hope Hummus. We do a weekly Bitty Box because it's perfect for two people, and usually choose to be completely surprised by what we receive. It adds an element of surprise to an otherwise routine event.
One of our recent box of goodies (minus a few things we snacked on before I managed to snap a photo ;) ). Having so much fresh produce in the house has inspired us to get creative in the kitchen. Here's some of our latest creations:
For the first time in my life, I am consistently getting the recommended daily servings of fruits and veggies in my diet. And I feel good.
