This weekend I am attending my first blogger event and I am so excited. The Runner's World Event is going to be amazing both on a blogging  level and on a personal fitness level. Running the 5k is going to be such an incredible achievement, and getting to meet with other bloggers and brands is going to be such a fantastic opportunity. My blog is a fun hobby and an enthralling passion of mine. As it grows I'm excited for the chance to make it more professional. One of the areas I've been wanting to invest in for my blog is business cards. From the recaps I've read it seems like blogging events are all about meeting and networking with others who have similar interests. I figured having a tangible card representing my blog that I could physically hand over to a person would help stengthen ties and foster relationships in the fitness and healthy living community. When I put out the word I was looking for a graphic designer to create business cards for me I was so happy to run across Pavement Runner, aka Brian. Brian is a fellow FitFluential Ambassador and the blogger  behind the amazing Pavement Runner website. Brian was really easy to work with. He asked what I was looking for on the business card and I sent over ideas. There were some things I really wanted (like links to all my social media channels) while most things I was very open to ideas on. I figure he knows way more about this stuff than me so I was going to give him free reign to design it however he felt would be best. I am so glad I was relatively hands-off with the design process, I think he made me some of the coolest business cards I have ever seen. I was blown away by the layout. I love how Pavement Runner kept it clean and simple while still conveying all my blog information. The layout is crisp and clear and matches my blog theme perfectly. It is also feminine without being overly girly. I could not have imagined a more perfect business card. Just as awesome as the front of the card is the back. I struggled with ideas for how to convey all the topics and interests and passions I have that I talk about on my blog. I was toying with the idea of coming up with a slogan or saying to try and sum up my blog topics but Brian was thinking way more big picture. I love how the back of my card is like an inspiration board for what makes up my blog. I really hope people find it eye catching and that it helps them get to know me and what I blog about better. I wasn't sure how many business cards I should print for this weekend's event so I decided to play it safe and order 50. It's better to have too many than to have too few, right? I didn't want to go too overboard though because in nine months I will have a different last name and will need to print new ones. I'm happy with the amount I printed and am pretty sure I'll come back from the event with extra cards left over. More for me to hoard! :D I took them to FedEx Kinkos to be printed and was very pleased with their prices. For double sided cards it was $16 to print 60 business cards. (They print in increments of 12 for standard business cards so 50 was just a rough estimate.)
