The press day was to show off the revamped water park area at Hershey. Being here brought back so many fun memories for me. The last time I was in Hershey Park was senior year of high school. It was our senior trip and I remember walking around with my friends talking about packing for college and reminiscing about our elementary trips there and how we were so excited to grow up but also really scared. Time really flies.
The boardwalk is so cute. It looks like walking along the boardwalk at the shore. The speakers had seagull noise lightly playing in the background which really added to the ambiance.
We arrived starving so we made a beeline for the food. I loved that there was a Nathan's stand. This used to be a yearly stop for us on our trip to the shore.
Veggie burgers for the win! I seriously love that they had a veggie option. It was delicious too, and visibly stuffed with vegetables. The crinkle cut fries were pretty fabulous too.
In hindsight it could have been dangerous loading up on food and then hitting the water slides but we were so hungry we went for dessert immediately after dinner. Thankfully our stomachs were kind to us.
For dessert there was an ice cream sundae bar, cupcakes, and fruit with a dip that was so incredibly delicious. I asked and they told me it's made with cream cheese, pineapple, and coconut. They also had Hershey hot chocolate. I had a big cup with marshmallows.
Before hitting up the rides we got a picture with the Hershey characters. I thought the kiss was so adorable.
It was so cool getting to be in a theme park by ourselves. There were no lines! We rode the ferris wheel by ourselves. I loved getting to see everything from way up high. These were all the water slides that we dominated. The guys were brave and tackled them all (even my dad!) while I did them all but avoided the swirling vortex of doom. #imawimp
This is the Shoreline Sprayground that I think is meant for little kids but that I had an absolute blast on. There were bridges and water soakers and bubbling fountains. The guys also said that purple slide on the left was the scariest slide in the park.
Not related to the water park but this wooden roller coaster is the one that my friend Megan and I went on senior year. I was screaming so loud she thought I was having a heart attack. I've tried a bunch of different ones but I'm just not a roller coaster fan. I like rides that spin you in circles really fast.
The nature surrounding Hershey is gorgeous. My dream is for me and Josh to come back one day and stay at the Hotel Hershey. We would eat fabulous food and get chocolate massages.
Meet the Wave Rider. It simulates riding out waves in the ocean. Here's Josh rocking it out.
And Pierce looking like a pro.
And then there's me scared out of my mind. haha After asking the lifeguard to assure me that this ride wouldn't kill me I sucked up the courage and dove.
And then held on for dear life. This was taken .5 seconds before I went flying backwards and had everyone around me hysterically laughing about how I somehow managed to land back on dry surface. I wish I could have seen a video of it. haha I was just so glad I didn't flash anyone!
We had SUCH a fun time! I felt like a little kid again running from ride to ride. I think out of everyone my dad enjoyed himself the most. He loves waterslides. He had so much fun him and my stepmom are planning a trip back next month!
I was so excited to be able to share this experience with Josh. I have so many happy memories at Hershey and I'm so glad he got to discover what a day at Hershey Park is like.
It truly is the sweetest place on Earth! :)
I'm leaving you with this ridiculous picture. The guys were so pumped the whole trip down they kept on chanting "HERSHEY" and "CHOCOLATE" like they were going to a rock concert. I told them to make their chocolate faces and this was what I got. haha
This day was such a fun experience and a memory that I will always treasure. Thanks so much to the PR team at Hershey for inviting me to check out the park and providing us with food and an awesome beach bag and towel. Hershey is such a treasure and a place I encourage everyone to visit.
Question of the Day: Have you been to Hershey? What's your favorite thing to do there? Justin Timberlake and Jay Z are coming. I'd love to see that!
