In case you aren’t familiar, Three Cooks One Kitchen is a monthly cooking installment that Joanna, Hannah and I do. We pick one of our places to get together and a food theme we want to focus on. Since summer is in full swing we decided to do another grilling event. I love grilled food and cannot get enough of it. This time we were at Jeff and Joanna's family lake house, and we grilled potatoes!
I'm pretty sure I've shared on here that growing up my nickname was the potato baby. If not, now you know. I love potatoes. But surprisingly I had never grilled them before. Oh man, am I glad we finally did. These turned out fabulous. And they are super easy to make!
Step One
Slice the potatoes lengthwise, into roughly quarter-inch thick slices.
Step Two
Coat both sides of the potatoes in olive oil.
Step Three
Place the potatoes on the grill.
Step Four
Do not walk inside, start talking, and get distracted. You will run outside to the smell of burning potatoes and be very sad. If this happens, repeat steps 1-3 and then grill each side of your fresh potatoes for 4 minutes per side.
Step Five
Top the potatoes with all of your favorite toppings. The sky is the limit, so feel free to get creative. Some of the toppings we included in our topping bar: chicken, guacamole, grilled onions, chives, cheese, broccoli, vegetarian chili, and quinoa orzo salad.
Step Six
Eat and enjoy! These were so tasty and a huge hit with everyone at the lake house that night. [Tweet "Three Cooks One Kitchen: Grilled Potatoes #recipe #blogomaha #summer #fitfluential #foodiechats"]To read Joanna and Hannah’s perspective on our potato grilling adventure check out their blog posts:
Questions of the Day: Are you a potato fan? (I'm not sure we can be friends if you say no...) Have you grilled potatoes before? What toppings would you put on your grilled potatoes?
